In collaboration with HP Singapore, our team developed a compact built-in mobile printer designed specifically for Generation Z living alone. The project began with in-depth user research to understand the challenges faced by young single residents—limited space, mobility, and the desire for aesthetically integrated home products.
UX Research Process
Through surveys, interviews, and scenario mapping, we identified a need for a printer that could seamlessly blend into small living spaces while maintaining both functionality and style. The resulting concept reimagined the printer as an interior-friendly device that could stand naturally on a bookshelf or desk, functioning as both a design object and a practical tool.
Main Function
The final concept introduced a smart, space-efficient printer that doubles as a stylish interior object—designed to be placed naturally on a bookshelf or desk. It features gesture and voice recognition, allowing users to print effortlessly without physical buttons, and a simple cartridge replacement system for intuitive maintenance. Additionally, the printer offers four customizable color options to match diverse personal styles and home environments.
The full design process—from initial research and user scenario mapping to final visualization—was presented at HP Korea Headquarters and later shared with the HP Singapore design team through an online conference. This project highlights how human-centered design can merge technology, lifestyle, and emotion into one seamless user experience.
